Welcome

Welcome to Sheffield and Balby Area Meeting. This is a grouping of several Quaker Meetings within the same general locality. Our regular meetings for worship are held at the 'local meeting', but about 6 times per year we meet as an 'area meeting', to deal with certain business matters and to enjoy sharing social time together. (Pictures below: Area Meeting in Doncaster)

Quakers are a faith group. We try to live in truth, peace, simplicity and equality, finding good and love in ourselves and those around us. Our meetings for worship offer a welcoming opportunity for spiritual exploration, refreshment, and sharing.

Living peacefully and promoting peace has always been a major concern for us. We want to share here the latest statement on the dreadful situation in Gaza. This statement was agreed at the Yearly Meeting of British Quakers in London in May 2025.

Back in November 2023, Friends at Sheffield Central meeting agreed a statement on the Israel/Palestine conflict.
